The UCI XCO World cup has started

The UCI XCO World cup started in Albstadt (Germany) on May 17, 2019. For this venue, it was a rehearsal before XCO World Championship that will take place there in June 2020 and the organizers introduced newly modified track sections including Mitas Abyss. The biggest hope for Mitas in the races was Ondrej Cink from Kross Racing Team. He did very well in the Short-Track race (11th) and so he started into the main race from the 2nd row. Ondrej was riding in the leading group on 7th position but unfortunately he fell on a slippery track and could not finish the race. But Ondrej’s team mate Sergio Mantécon had good race to and managed to finish in 13th position.

For the following weekend after Albstadt, the XCO World Cup circus moved to the most attractive venue of the series in Nove Mesto na Morave in the Czech Republic where Mitas is a traditional Main partner featuring the world famous Mitas Choice section with large tribune.  Traditionally, the venue attracted huge crowds of fans mainly to cheer the best Czech rider Ondrej Cink. This additional factor pushed Ondrej to the limits and he made the race unforgettable. Again he had a very good Short track race on Friday (11th) that secured him a starting position from the 2nd row for the main race on Sunday. He was the only rider who managed to hold on to pace current megastars Mathieu Van Der Poel (winner) and Nino Schurter (2nd) for some laps, rode on 3rd position for most of the race and he finished on the podium in 5th place eventually. During the weekend in Nove Mesto na Morave, Mitas also offer great fun and experience to the visitors. They could try and win prizes on  cycling trainer Rouvy. Crowds were also attracted by a signing session of Ondrej Cink, Sergio Mantécon and Jan Skarnitzl. Fans could also check-out Mitas tires on test bikes on Shimano booth or hang out in Mercedes-Benz Van Base.
